This Shepherd's Hut is reputed to be amongst the oldest buildings in the area, and once
the focal point of activity on this 168 HA part of the original extended Klipfontein Farm.

A view away from the water pools of the Goukou River, the hut stands in a tranquil
setting next to the old dorsvloer (threshing floor) - today only a meditative circle of stones.

These cottages are havens of peace and tranquility

The farm is a private Nature Reserve, boasting all the Ecosystems of the Southern Cape.
In this Bird Paradise, indigenous plants, true to their natural habitat, grow within metres of
each other, separated only by the dividing lines of nature according to soil type.

Existing buck tracks have been opened up as walks through the Fynbos.
.

Two Stones Cottages, although only 500 meters away from the Main Dwelling, are
completely private. From the stoeps of these cottages you could enjoy the changing
moods of the valley below, listen to the silence and find yourself again.
In the night sky the stars are brighter than you have ever seen before.

Gas cookers, fridges and hot showers are the modcons, while friendly fireplaces,
lamping and flickering candles add to the atmosphere at night.

These cottages are for house guests and are not available for hire.

The Main House is well restored and placed between two large dams, fed by springs.
Adequate land is available for specialised cultivation, although plenty natural crops such as
thatch and fynbos with decorative or medicinal value awaits harvesting and marketing.

The farm has untapped potential as an ecotourist destination or as a guest farm retreat.

Above all the farm offers a peaceful lifestyle for oneself and family.
